About Pahang


Located in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia, Pahang is the peninsula's largest state. Currently, has a population of 1.2 million. Spanning north to south of the state, forming a natural divider between east and west Pahang is a formidable mountain range wherein lies Peninsular Malaysia's highest peak, Gunung Tahan, the inspiration of many a mountaineers in this part of the world. Pahang's climate is characteristic of the tropics - hot and humid all the year round with distinct wet and dry season that coincides with the wet seasons from the South China Sea. Kuantan, the state capital, is not only fast developing as a commercial town but is also a popular seaside resort. Pekan, the royal town is situated 45 km south of Kuantan.

Cherating Beach - (View More Islands and Beaches)

Cherating beach Cherating, 47 km north of Kuantan, is famed as the location of Asia`s first Club Med. Enjoy a host of aquatic thrillls such as cataraman sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. The nearby Cherating Village offers an opportunity to watch handicraft demonstrations amidst a rustic and laid-back atmosphere. Endau – Rompin State Park - (View More Nature and Adventure)

Explore the wonders of nature in this ancient rainforest. the Endau-Rompin State Park is the second largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia, named after the Endau and Rompin Rivers that flow through the park. It is one of the country`s last remaining lowland dipterocarp forests, straddled acros the states of Pahang and Johor.

The untouched wilderness awaits nature lovers with a host of atractions including a variety of flora and fauna, majestic rock formations, lovely waterfalls and rivers. Go on a trek to discover its rare plants or climb the challenging terrain for a breathtaking view of the jungle canopy. enjoy the adrenaline rush as you go kayaking in its rapids. Bird-watchers will be fascinated with the nearly 250 species of birds which make their home here.

Permits must be obtained before entering this nature reserve. Trekkers will be guided by forest rangers to ensure safety.
